The Signature Story
“We started incorporating staff members’ signatures a long time ago because we wanted to build relationships with our customers and have them see that our gear is made by hand by Americans who take pride in their work. This concept offers a way to build those connections and allows our stitchers to take pride in the work they produce. Incorporating signatures with our products takes a little bit of time, but we think this step is important when we are trying to differentiate ourselves from the huge companies that import cheap gear from overseas.”
—Dustin Coleman, Co-Owner and Founder of Cole-TAC

THE HANDS BEHIND THE STITCH
MEET THE HANDS BEHIND YOUR GEAR
Every Cole-TAC product is signed by the hand who made it. Since day one, that’s been our promise—gear made by American craftsmen and women who take real pride in their work.
Now it’s time for you to meet them.
Watch the trailer for “The Hands Behind the Stitch,” our new, four-episode mini-series. Follow the crew from our roots in New Hampshire all the way to Rapid City—inside the shop, at the machines, and behind the products you carry every day. See where we started, how we’ve grown, and where we’re headed next.
EPISODE ONE
FIRST STITCH
Synopsis: Before there was a team, there was one person. Episode 1 follows Ty Tomasko — Cole-TAC’s very first employee — from the beginning: what drew him to the work, what it took to build something from nothing, and how a simple act of signing his name by hand became the heartbeat of everything Cole-TAC makes. Set against the backdrop of a vanishing American craft, this episode asks the foundational question the whole series lives inside: why does it still matter who makes something, and how it gets made?

EPISODE TWO
AT THE BENCH
Synopsis: Every Cole-TAC product passes through human hands — these are some of those hands. Episode 2 introduces three bench sewers at different stages of their craft, each bringing their own definition of what American Made means to the work. They talk about the products they’re proudest to stitch, the details that separate a good piece from a great one, and the lives they carry with them to the bench each day. The episode closes the way their work does: with a signature.

EPISODE THREE
PLANTED HERE
Synopsis: When Cole-TAC relocated to Rapid City, South Dakota in 2021, a new chapter began — and a new group of people rose to meet it. Episode 3 follows three or four employees who joined during that move and have since grown into specialized or leadership roles. Their stories are about more than a career pivot; they’re about what happens when skilled people commit to keeping a dying craft alive through deep expertise and quiet ownership. Same work, deeper roots.

EPISODE FOUR
EVERY NAME
Synopsis: Everyone comes back. In the series finale, every face from Episodes 1 through 3 returns to speak to what comes next — the future of the craft, the people still learning it, and a word of thanks to the customers who make it possible to keep going. The episode closes on the signature sequence: every name, one by one, filling the frame in order of tenure, until the last one appears — Ty’s — where it all began.
